Want to work remotely from Spain?

Spain's digital nomad visa lets non-EU remote workers live and work in Spain for a foreign employer or as self-employed. We prepare and certify every Korean-side document and can file directly at the Spanish Embassy in Seoul, or coordinate with our Madrid partner law firm for filing in Spain.

Eligibility requirements

• Proof of a remote-employment contract
• Employer has operated 1+ year, and is based outside Spain
• You've worked for that employer 3+ months before applying, with a contract lasting 1+ year
• 20% or less of your total income comes from Spain-based sources
• No criminal record or prior deportation from Spain
• Qualifying education or 3+ years of relevant work experience
• Monthly income at least 2x the Spanish minimum wage (SMI)
• Every supporting document needs an apostille, and Spanish translation if not already in English or Spanish

Two filing paths

• Spanish Embassy in Korea: ~1 month processing, 1-year initial visa — you must register as self-employed (autónomo) in Spain after entry, but you travel with the visa already approved.
• In Spain directly: ~20 days processing, 3-year initial visa — faster and longer-lasting, but carries the risk of traveling to Spain before knowing whether the application succeeds. We recommend a local lawyer for this path.

Embassy filing checklist (Korea)

1. Application form and photo/valid passport
2. Employment contract proving 3+ months of continuous work before the application date
3. Business registration proof — employer operating 1+ year
4. Income tax certificate + bank balance certificate + account transaction history (at least 200% of Spain's minimum wage, more if bringing family)
5. Criminal record check covering the last 2 years (plus a foreign check if you lived abroad 6+ months in the last 5 years, apostilled)
6. Signed no-crime declaration covering the last 5 years (embassy-provided form)
7. Spain-wide private medical insurance
8. Social security agreement certificate (Korean pension enrollment, to exempt you from Spain's pension system)
9. Residence certificate or entry/exit record proving you were in Korea from application through issuance
10. Diploma copy or proof of relevant experience
11. Spanish foreigner ID number (NIE) — must be obtained before applying
